Surface Design

Using the image sequence photographs - I want to create a surface design that speaks to the light flares and distorted lighting conditions of the site.

Through laser cutting I could look at negative/positive space in a surface.

In our quick-fire surface design workshop I created surfaces using clear film sheet, to try speak to the distortion from my image sequence and site device.

From this distorted form - I decided to go up to the 3D labs and experiment with making a glass recreation of it - a potential for letter? Or just continuing surface design.

Laser- etching onto acrylic surface.

Transparency with the acrylic etching can be an interesting way to introduce light and projection into a surface design.

Glass came out of kiln!

Note the air-bubbles that formed and popped, didn't settle right on the mold - need to find the perfect setting for kiln.
